    Adolescents

    Mills-Peninsula offers comprehensive services for adolescents ages 13 - 18 who are experiencing mental health and or substance abuse problems. We provide San Mateo County's only inpatient program for adolescents.

    Our treatment continuum includes:

    • Crisis care

    • 23-hour observation

    • Inpatient care

    • Partial hospitalization

    • Intensive Outpatient and Groups
    Staff are trained to address the needs of patients with diverse and complex psychiatric, medical and substance abuse problems.

    The treatment team includes psychiatrists, registered nurses and licensed vocational nurses, licensed psychiatric technicians, mental health workers, occupational therapists, marriage and family therapists and licensed clinical social workers. Treatment is overseen by a board-certified adolescent psychiatrist.

    • Suicide precautions

    • Family counseling

    • Group and individual therapy

    • Treatment and education about alcohol and drugs

    • Family support and intervention

    • Conflict resoultion and training for problem solving

    • Stress management and education about healthy lifestyles
